PIEP NCR welcomes Miriam Environmental Planning Organization (MEP-ORG) as its first affiliate member under its Junior Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (JPIEP) umbrella program.
The formal presentation of MEP-ORG’s admission took place during its general assembly, with the exchanges of Terms and Conditions and the reading of the resolution of the Chapter Board of Directors.
On hand during the formal presentation were MEP-ORG President Franchesca Mae Ramos, MEP-ORG moderator Dr. Phares Parayno, and Miriam College School of Arts and Sciences Dean Dr. Francis Evangelista. Chapter President Jayson Edward San Juan, Chapter Vice President Dr. Ibylou Bandala-Golla, and Chapter Auditor Dr. Edgar Chavez represented PIEP NCR.
Before the formal presentation, the Chapter President delivered a lecture on placemaking, using an ethic of care as a framework on creating and enhancing urban spaces. He also highlighted the important work of future environmental planners to further improve the profession by making it more responsive to the needs of the vulnerable sectors of society.
